More fun things!

Hello everyone! This week we did our first community engagement, and it was amazing! The residents loved spending time with the students and everyone got to exchange stories and talk about the differences between Austria and America. It was very hard to leave! We prepared the Anthem of Styria to sing to the residents with Liz accompanying us on the violin, and we also read a very well known poem Lorelei . After class on Wednesday we went with a couple of students to watch the soccer match Germany- South Korea. Surprisingly, Germany lost 2-0 and were eliminated from the World Cup to the delight of some of the Austrian viewers in the Fanarena .     Another voluntary after-school activity was the visit to the art museum. The exhibition was interesting, and we had a good laugh. The view for the art museum itself was also very beautiful. We ended our little excursion with strudel at a small restaurant on the lake Mur.

We're half way though the program!=(

Hello everyone! This week marked the mid-point for our stay in Austria! We had a lot of fun visiting the botanical garden and the Eggenberg palace. On the day we went to the botanical garden- the weather decided to be wayyy too hot but it is not that easy to keep us from exploring and seeing new things! The flowers and plants in the garden were from all over the world and were also very beautiful! The Eggenberg palace was one of the most amazing landmarks many of us have ever seen! This castle is a architectural masterpiece! The castle has an amazing history and a very intricate style of the inside rooms. Unfortunately there was a strict no-camera policy, so we could not take pictures from the inside, but we got some fun ones outside.
