First week!

Today concluded our first week in Graz!

After emotional goodbyes and a small hick-up at the airport, the rest of the travels went smoothly and we made it safely through Paris and to the Vienna airport. A very tired but very excited group of us met up with Tyler and went to Graz by bus. We took a little pit-stop to get a first taste of Austrian food. After a short trip and some much-needed sleep we made it to Graz safely and were greeted by the host families, who were waiting on us. The bus was the last place where everyone got to speak English.

The first day, Wednesday, was dedicated to getting settled in, getting used to the new environment and getting to know each other better. Due to the jet lag some of us needed a much-deserved nap!

Thursday, we were all rested a little better and the students had a little taste of the way classes would be like. The day was short but fun, phones and new phone-contracts were distributed, and everyone got to go home to hang out with their host-families and catch up on some more sleep!

Friday, we went on an exciting city tour, which ended with some schnitzel and risotto.

Everyone is getting to know their host-families and host-siblings better and enjoying the (mostly) sunny weather here in Graz!

Hello Everybody!

Welcome everyone! We, the instructors (Tyler and Sofiya), are very exited to meet you all very soon!

Mid-week update

This week was all about studying and having fun! It seems like everyone is improving on their vocabulary, learning new fun things about linguistic and more and more about culture.  On Tuesday we went to the park and played some games and did some improv-theather. The students were having so much fun and were so good that we even had a small audience of a little girl with her mother. This week also marked a very special day for Liz, who turned 18! We got to celebrate by eating Austrian cake and singing Birthday songs in German.
